The new 300 bed, 150 room residence hall is set to be completed for the fall 2010 semester. The new hall will be constructed next to Centennial Hall where Crockett Hall and Summit Apartments once stood.

"We should start to move dirt next week," said Vice President for Student Life Wanda Mercer. "Everything is still on schedule."

Despite the national economic downturn and heavy rains Stephenville has received, Mercer said the new hall will still be completed at the planned time.

The hall will be similar to Centennial in design and two students will be housed in each shared room. The layout of the rooms will be consistant throughout the residence hall, as opposed to Centennial, which has different room designs. Every room will also have its own bathroom. The building will have outside courtyards on the north and south ends of the hall and a classroom.

"[When designing the hall] we went with the preferences the students said they wanted the most," Mercer said.
