On Monday, Nov. 9, a construction fence will be put up in the P30 parking lot between Tarleton Street and Lillian Street. The sidewalks on Tarleton, Lillian and Washington Street will be open for pedestrian traffic. Handicap and reserved parking will be relocated to the north side of P30 next to Tarleton Street.

Tarleton State University's livestock judging team traveled to the National Barrow Show in Austin, Minn. to compete at the largest eight-breed swine show. The intercollegiate judging contest was held on Sept. 14, where Tarleton finished tenth overall. Individually, Jacob Lange of Miles, Texas, finished fourth in reasons.

Tarleton's team then headed south to compete in the Flint Hills Classic Livestock Judging Contest on Sept. 19 in El Dorado, Kan. The team finished sixth overall and Lange finished fifth in cattle.

The following day, the team finished fifth overall and third in sheep at the Mid-America Livestock Judging Contest in Wichita, Kan.

On Oct. 5, the team competed at the State Fair of Texas. Tarleton finished first in sheep and also placed third in cattle, hogs, reasons and overall. Individually, Lange placed first in sheep, fifth in cattle, sixth in hogs and second overall.

The team then traveled to Okla., for the Tulsa State Fair judging contests held Oct. 10. Tarleton was sixth overall and Lange was seventh in cattle.

The Student Programming Association is hosting "SPAliday," a weekly event for students to relax and interact with one another. Every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. students can participate in different activities held in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center.

"We were trying to find a way to make the student center more of a student center while giving students a chance to relax and hang out with each other," Danel Smith, SPA president, said.

This week the activity was relaxing and enjoying Dr Pepper floats.

Next Tuesday, Nov. 10, the SPAliday event scheduled is cookie decorating.
