Texans overcome Wildcats on Homecoming
Tarleton moves up to seventh in national poll, sixth in Super Region Four

Following a Wildcat punt the Texans took over the ball in their own territory. Grantham connected with wide receiver Hobson on a 75-yard touchdown pass with 4:32 left in the game. Kicker Garrett Lindholm made the extra point to extend the lead to 13-6.
The Texan defense held the Wildcat offense to a four and out, then held the ball until the clock ran out.
The Texan defense racked up 100 total tackles and seven sacks for minus-37 yards while earning 14 tackles for a loss of minus-45 yards. The defense was led by linebacker Matt Knicky who got 14 tackles and one sack.
The ACU defense was led by Eric Edwards who had six tackles, two for a loss. The Wildcats had nine tackles for a loss of minus 34-yards and two sacks for a loss of 14 yards.
Wildcat Darryl Richardson led ACU with 20 carries for 58 yards rushing.
ACU quarterback Mitchell Gale was 16-of-41 for 192 yards with two interceptions. Receiver Kendal Johnson had six catches for 80 yards on the game.
The Texans return to action at Angelo State Saturday, Oct. 31, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. Tarleton will be aiming to stay tied for first place with Texas A&M-Kingsville.
