Nowadays one cannot walk into a bookstore, movie vendor or anywhere else for that matter without seeing Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's faces on some magazine or ad for some random product. Twilight mania has exploded and it, in my opinion, is vastly overrated and over exhausted.

I am a connoisseur of paranormal fiction and I have been both terrified and enthralled with vampires since my first encounters with them in the Bailey School Kids Book "Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots" and watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" from behind the couch (They were really scary and I was eight.).

I am not saying that "Twilight" is not worth picking up and reading. I have read all four books, twice. What I am saying is that this has been blown way out of proportion and there are many other vampire reads that are much better.

Do we love them for their coveting morality? If you want that, step into the world of Anne Rice. The writing is much better and the vampires have more diverse personalities. If you want vampires that seem almost human, The Vampire Argeneau Series by Lynsay Sands is great. If you want more dangerous vampires, I guarantee you will love both the HBO Series "True Blood" and the books that the TV series is loosely based off of, Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse Series. If you like that Twilight has both werewolves and vampires, Harris delivers a better diversity of paranormal players.

If you like the whole teen scene about "Twilight," The P.C. Cast series just got a new book out called "Hunted," but I suggest starting with the first book "Marked" to get the full picture.

If you like movies, "Underworld" and "Interview with a Vampire" are a lot of fun.

So I ask you to expand your horizons and realize that "Twilight" is not the only thing out there and is not worth the hullabaloo that gets made over it. Spread the love.
