The new James Bond film,
The new James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace" is heavy in death and action and cuts the science fiction and flash.

Daniel Craig ("Layer Cake," "The Golden Compass") returns to the task of remaking James Bond in the most recent film in the 007 series "Quantum of Solace," directed by Marc Forster ("Monster's Ball," "Loungers"). The film is number 22 in a series that began 46 years ago. "Quantum of Solace" is the sequel to the successful 2006 "Casino Royale," made by Martin Campbell as a remake of the 1967 flop with the same title starring Peter Sellers, but it is not considered part of the James Bond series.

In Craig's two Bond movies he has openly said he wants to find and explore the dark side of James Bond and wants to show both the struggles the character faces and the gray area between good guy and bad guy.

"One of the things I was criticized for was that I looked like a bad guy, but I was happy with that because I think true good guys have to step into the dark side to do their job. I wanted people to question Bond's morals and his judgment," Craig said in an interview with telegraph.co.uk.

The film is about James Bond trying to come to terms with losing a girl he cared about in the previous film and trying to hunt down the organization responsible to stop them.

Through out the entire film everyone attempts to convince him that he is too focused on revenge to act in the best interest of his job, but he stays focused on trying to bring the organization down. Bond ends up being accused of being a lose cannon, and out-of-control and is told that he is to stop his mission. Instead he searches for ways to continue his mission and not only has to go against the evil organization named the Quantum of Solace, but must also run from MI6, which is the British intelligence agency he is an agent of.

The "good" and "bad" guys he encounters continue to seem more alike than different as many other major world powers support the organization out of desire for more natural resources. These people claim that if countries did not deal with the "villains" their would be no one to deal with.

The storyline is entertaining and only answers the questions that absolutely have to be addressed for a successful story, leaving other questions about the mysterious organization for sequel films to follow. The film continues to show what has made the James Bond series an incredibly popular film series in America: action and sex in films.

I have read many reviews of this movie and I like this one the best. I will go and see it based on what you said. My favorite Bond was Roger Moore. He was too cool to be serious about anything. (Continued…)
