Dr. Randy McCamey, Assistant Professor of Management in Tarleton State University's College of Business Administration, has joined the Board of Directors of the Texas Neighborhood Services (TNS) agency.
TNS is a community action agency providing resources to low-income households in a 14 county region in North Central Texas.
"We are pleased to welcome to our board as a representative of the private sector for Erath County, Dr. Randy McCamey," said Brad Manning, TNS Executive Director. "Dr. McCamey will be a valuable addition to the board with his knowledge of business strategy and organizational development."
As a board member, McCamey will work to identify community needs, determine major personnel, fiscal, and program policies for these public service organizations, and will provide oversight of these organizations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Erath County is currently served by TNS in Stephenville through the North Central Texas Workforce Center at 2165 W. South Loop. TNS also serves the county through the Early Head Start Center, located at 1010 Graham St., currently serving 38 children, and the Head Start Center, located in the Community Grace Church, that serves 34 children in and around the Stephenville area.
TNS is governed by a three-part Board of Directors representing the poverty, private and public sectors. This board is responsible for providing strategic policy-making oversight to three public service organizations - the North Central Texas Workforce, the Early Head Start program, and the Low Income Energy Assistance program.
Overall, the TNS Head Start/Early Head Start programs serve 1031 children in Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Wise, Erath, Navarro, Hood and Johnson Counties.
