Following a strong defensive performance the Texans overcame rival school, Abilene Christian University Wildcats in the Homecoming game, Saturday. With the defeat of the formally number nine team in the nation Wildcats, the Texans control their own playoff destiny.

Dublin Dr Pepper recieves historical marker

The oldest Dr Pepper Bottling plant in the world received recognition with a historical marker from the Texas Historical Commission Saturday, Oct. 24 in Dublin. The event was held at 10:24 a.m., in honor of the 10-2-4 slogan developed by the Dr Pepper company.

Copyright 2009 Tarleton State University could face a fine of $137,500 from the U.S. Department of Education for violations to a federal law that requires universities to disclose accurate information about serious crimes on their campuses. "Tarleton recognized that unintentional mistakes had been made in its reporting under the Clery Act," the university said today in a prepared statement.

Tarleton State University could face a fine of $137,500 from the U.S. Department of Education for violations to a federal law that requires universities to disclose accurate information about serious crimes on their campuses. The fine is believed to be the first levied against a university in Texas.

Texas A&M System Chancellor Michael D. McKinney visited the campus on Tuesday, Oct. 26. While at Tarleton, he visited with the Deans' Council, attended the Special Kids Rodeo hosted by Tarleton Equine Assisted Therapy (TREAT), ate lunch with 12 students and met with President Dominic Dottavio.

SGA votes to look into tainted Homecoming Queen votes

At Wednesday's Student Government Association House of Representatives meeting, the council decided to continue investigation into the illegal voting activity involved in the Homecoming Queen Election. Student Body President Maggie Moore opened the discussion by explaining the illegal voting activity and said the election committee hand counted the votes to ensure fairness.
