On Wednesday, April 23, The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents, in an afternoon telephonic meeting, officially named Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio as Tarleton's fifteenth president. Currently, Dottavio is the president of Heidelberg College, which is a 158-year-old private college in Tiffin, Ohio.

By a mere two votes, Micah Moore beat hi opponent Lacey Hutson in the run-off election for the position of Texan Rider for next year, but Tarleton won't know until June 1 whether the students decision will stick. "In a way it's hard because I wasn't just so far behind Micah that he just beat me, this way if just one or two more people would have voted it could have gone either way.

More than 40 students, faculty and staff attended a speech by Editorial Pulitzer Prize finalist Roger Jones in the Dick Smith Library Multi-purpose room Tuesday at 2:15 pm. Jones, who is an editorial writer for the Dallas Morning News was speaking on the series of editorials he wrote that changed the way Texas lawmakers pass laws.
