Queen nominees announced

Earlier this week, students went online to the Tarleton home page to nominate female students for next week's Homecoming Queen election. The nominations closed at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The 2007 Homecoming Queen nominees are Jana Waldrup, Dana McLaughlin, Amy Scott, Rachel Turner and Jessica Medina.
Four inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame

Four individuals were inducted into the Tarleton State University Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday during a moving banquet in which former friends, coaches, and teammates expressed their respect and admiration for the inductees and what they have meant to the university.

On Friday, the organization P.U.L.S.E., which stands for Promoting Understanding of Lifestyles through Service and Education, held a campus-wide Pride Parade. The parade crowd, which included P.U.L.S.E., students and faculty, began its route in the front of the Barry B. Thompson Student Center, and walked through the campus, in front of the library, and stopped at the administration mall.

During the Student Government Association meeting on Monday, senate members discussed issues concerning the Texan Cards including how often they are used and how easily they wear out and a student section in the stadium for football games. They also passed Resolution 02-07 F, which recommends to change the core curriculum.
Campus centralized heat and air on new system, saves student's money

Tarleton is making changes to control the temperature. The "Central Loop Project," an endeavor Tarleton State University has been consistently working on for the past few years, is the new method to heat and cool the entire university on one system.
'I-rish' I was Celtic

Celtic band, Beyond the Pale, performed in front of a group of about 50 students and faculty during the Celtic Festival hosted by Center for Diversity Initiatives. These students were introduced to traditional Celtic cuisine such as Irish soda bread and English scones and they were taught traditional Celtic style dancing.
