The Pacer, University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, TN

2 days ago by Angelia Stinnet

When it comes to religion, women nearly always get the sharp end of the stick.

In the Old Testament women are stoned to be death for adultery, but men can have multiple wives and the ideal wife is one who gets up before the sun to cook, and then spends the rest of the day in selfless servitude.

IXP - China 50

Harbus, Harvard University, Boston, MA

"There are several paths to success." That is my key learning from the China IXP this January that proved to be an amazing learning opportunity and an extremely dazzling experience. I was hooked on the charm of the orient. I went on the China IXP because I was attracted by their economic success and the enigma of being able to achieve it in a political and cultural setting so different from the Western model we're so used to revering.

The Gramblinite, Grambling State University, Grambling, LA

2 days ago by Nnamdi Ekeh

Reading Imani Jackson's column "being Anti-gay is not ok" last week in The Gramblinite, I found it hard to disagree. One, Jackson's views were factual, and she limited her views within societal boundaries, excluding sensitive cases like religion.

I'm not really into this lesbian/gay debate; I believe we are all humans irrespective of our sexual preferences.

'Takers' is all flash, little substance

Laney Tower, Laney College, CA

Takers" took me in; that was no doubt due to the sweet eye-candy cast featuring Idris Elba, Tip T. I. Harris, Chris Brown, Mike Ealy, and Hayden Christiansen. The "Takers" is precision bank robbery culminating with slick, slow-motion cinematography of the yet-to-be-caught group of bank robbers with more urban swagger than the Ocean's 11 crew (remake) was a sweet introduction to this heist film.
